The Maharashtra Chapter of ASI arranged the Annual Conference MASICON 2009 in Aurangabad between 29th Jan. to 1st Feb 2009.

PROGRAMME AT A GLANCE

We had the live Workshop on 29th Jan 2009 including Open and Laparoscopic Surgeries, Endoscopic Procedures and Ultrasonography. The workshop was very successful and was attended by over 338 delegates.

The CME was on 30th Jan 2009 and was inaugurated by the hands of Dr. S.N. Jatal President Maharashtra State Chapter of ASI, Attended by over 710 delegate.

The best paper award and Dr. K.C. Gharpure traveling fellowship was awarded to Dr. Rutvik Jaykar from Solapur during the conference on merits.

The Executive Committee of the Chapter met four times in this year. The audit, accounts, Investment and Chapter activities were reviewed. The next Annual Conference will be held at Solapur in February 2010.

The secretary has received the activities of city chapter from Pune/Thane/Nasik who are organizing regular CME & Workshop programmes in their respective cities.

MASICON 2009 Inauguration Ceremony

The evening of Friday 30th January 2009 witnessed the inauguration of MASICON 2009 by the hands of Hon. Shri Rajesh Tope, minister of medical education the function was graced by the presence of shri Ankushraoji Kadam, Dr. Shrivastava, Dr Dhorepatil, Dr. Jaisingh Shinde, Dr. Jatal, Dr.Suryavanshi, Dr. Shaikh and Dr.Pawar.
The organizing secretary Dr. Pravin Suryavanshi during this speech expressed gratitude over the wonderful response and thanked all the people for their joints efforts in making MASICON –2009 a successful event.
The honorable chief guest Shri Rajesh Tope promised that government in the future would aid such informative scientific conferences. He also spoke of the possibility of retirement age of professors being extended to 65 years. He expressed the need of making latest technologies available in rural areas of Maharashtra, Dr. Shrivastava and Dr. Jatal expressed their views and the event conducted with vote of thanks by Dr. Borgaonkar
